Counselling and Psychological Services

In today’s competitive world, academic difficulties are often associated with personal problems. A learner who finds himself unable to perform well in academics might be facing some psychological problem that is interfering with his/her performance. Some of the issues that learners typically face include depression, anxiety, lack of motivation, relationship issues and low confidence. To assist learners in working through such problems, the college offers counselling service that ensures confidential assessment and a brief therapy for learners whose apprehensions range from the normal challenges of everyday life to disruptive psychological concerns.

Mental Health Support and Initiatives
The team of psychologists at our college is committed to supporting students’ mental health and well-being. Prioritizing student’s mental health is part of the ethos at TLHC of promoting student well-being at all levels. The counseling room serves as a safe, confidential space where students can seek guidance and emotional support. We recognize the pressures of academic life and are here to help students navigate personal, social, and academic challenges.
In addition to individual counseling sessions, we have a student-led psychological society that organizes informative events on important mental health topics such as bullying, managing anxiety, and stress management to raise awareness and provide students with helpful strategies for coping with these challenges.
Our team works closely with faculty and staff to identify students who may need support, ensuring timely intervention and care. The counseling team offers mental health counseling, self-care workshops, and activities aimed at personal development, helping students build resilience and succeed in both their academic and personal lives. Students are encouraged to reach out whenever they need support—whether for academic stress, personal challenges, or general well-being. The counseling room is always a place of compassion, confidentiality, and guidance.
Prioritizing Mental Health: A Step towards a Happier, Healthier College Community
Qualified psychologists in the college counseling room, see firsthand how students juggle academics, relationships, and personal stress. Amid deadlines and social pressures, mental health is often overlooked. However, just as physical health requires care, so does emotional well-being. Prioritizing mental health fosters resilience, self-awareness, and a more fulfilling college experience.
Why Mental Health Matters in College?
College is a time of growth and discovery, but it also brings stress, uncertainty, and self-doubt. The pressure to excel can take a toll, impacting motivation, relationships, and academic performance. Good mental health is more than just the absence of distress—it enhances creativity, confidence, and decision-making, allowing students to fully engage in their education and personal lives. These are the reasons why TLHC prides itself as a trailblazer in prioritizing mental health awareness for all.
Breaking the Silence: It’s Okay to Seek Support?
Many students hesitate to seek help, fearing judgment or believing they should handle things alone. However, mental health challenges deserve the same attention as physical health. Our counseling room provides a confidential space where students can process emotions, gain clarity, and develop strategies to navigate life’s complexities. Seeking support is an act of strength, not weakness.
Mental health is a shared responsibility. A supportive college environment encourages open conversations, empathy, and self-care. Small actions like checking in on friends, normalizing stress discussions, and practicing kindness, can make a significant difference. Prioritizing rest, setting boundaries, and embracing balance over perfection are also keys to long-term well-being.
